Furthermore, our Research & Development activities include the monitoring, integration and application of global trends regarding environmental footprint reduction, with a particular focus on CO2, through process improvements and the development of low carbon products. 

Our Research, Development & Quality (RDQ) department, located at the TITAN Kamari cement plant near Athens, Greece, is part of the Group Engineering Technology function. RDQ consists of the Analytical Laboratory, the Laboratory of Concrete Technology, the Alternative Fuels Laboratory and the Dry Mortars Laboratory. 

Scientific collaborations and networks

Scientific collaboration is the key to successful innovation.
We collaborate with leading international academic and research institutions to enrich our knowledge on cementitious materials and improve their performance as construction materials. Recent collaborative research projects with established academic institutions and scientific organizations include two demonstrations on carbon capture and reuse technology, as part of the RECODE ( and CARMOF ( EU-sponsored projects, our participation in the REDMUD Marie Curie training program ( on reusing industrial byproducts for novel binders, and our collaboration with nine partners on SEACON (, a project that uses seawater to produce sustainable concrete.
